ford mondeo display not working
Mondy is Dead: Alternator, Battery, etc. The day has finally come for my first post. I've been using this site for a long while now and has been an invaluable resource. I have a 2001 Mk3 Mondeo 2.o TDDi with about 118,000 miles on it. But I'll begin my story (and I'll try keep it short) about my day yesterday.What's weird though, ive had battery issues before, in fact a year after getting the car, the battery was replaced under warranty by Ford. The car struggled to start, the fans wouldnt work when driving, the heated screen didnt work (no idea if its working now),but mainly it struggled to start. I've got a 2013 mondeo estate business edition and this morning when I came to unlock it, I found the remote key fob didnt work. I tried the spare and that was dead too. Had to manually unlock the doors which is a pain in the backside but everything else seems ok. Thought maybe the battery was dead, but strange if it went in the spare at Unless your screen is steamed / fogged up on the inside, you wont notice that your heated screen is working or not. It doesn't give out a detectable heat by skin contact, and doesn't show any signs other than the light on the button that it is switched on.
You can fully charge your battery and reset the BMS and everything will work again but eventually, it may drift back to not working. It is a flawed system. My wife has a 2014 Fiesta without BMS and the heated screen works whenever the button is pressed. In my 2018 S-Max with BMS it is a lottery in cold weather as to whether the heated screen
To get to the LCD, start your truck. Then, on the screen, go to General Settings. Hit the User-defined bar located beneath the Steering Wheel. Following that, you must click and hold on the Functioning bar. After you've granted permission, click the Functioning button. It should be located on the steering column.

Their is a connection both sides of the windscreen, the holding bracket on my drivers side came loose and was being hit by the wiper motor linkage and broke the ribbon cable into the screen, the ribbon cable is heavy duty multistrip that plugs into the cable, all strips are the same feed so I just Jonro2009. I have a 2015 MkV and the stop/start system seems to be playing up. Normally when the system kicks in and turns off the engine a green symbol lights in the rev counter binnacle, recently when it malfunctions I get a yellow flashing symbol in the binnacle. The flashing yellow icon is in the same place and looks the same as the green
