I've found 7 now that have a question mark over them but are unaccessible due to trees blocking them. Unless they are all story related then there is a different way to open them. Instead you have to actually recognise to what place it is pointing to and go there to find hidden loot. However the Cave Painting collectibles you should be able to study and "collect" by pressing X when you have a light source with you.
